The Trachoma Atlas aims to consolidate published and unpublished data at the district level and provide up-to-date country maps of trachoma distribution on an open-access platform.
Maps are expected to be used as:
An information resource for all partners to show the current distribution of trachoma and highlight where additional surveys are needed
An advocacy tool to prompt political will and further support for implementation efforts
A source of data for use in operational research, with the aim of improving our knowledge of the spatial heterogeneity of trachoma and refining control strategies
